The 1st seminar for referees was held in Korea.

With the initiative of the Korean Kurash Association, a special training seminar was arranged for about 60 referees from all over the country at Keongqi University in Suwon.

During the 3-day seminar, the participants received the most important knowledge and skills on the Kurash theories, judging and decision making on controversial situations.

The training was organized in the form of lectures, presentations, video materials and practical stages by qualified experts in the management of Kim-Eun Jung, Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of Kurash Confederation Asia-Oceania.

“As for today, there are 10 international referees and more than 20 regional referees in the Korea Kurash Association. Korean judges are actively participating in World and Asian Championships, Asian Games and international tournaments” said Kim Jong-du-Jung, President of Korean Kurash Association and Chairman of KCAO Disciplinary Committee.

“The arbitration issue is very responsible. Instant assessment of the situation requires quick thinking. If the referee makes a mistake, not only the competition, but also the charm of the Kurash can be damaged. Therefore, we have arranged a special arbitration seminar to improve the professional skills of Korean referees and to fill the reserves of leading referees in our continent. Moreover, we have planned to hold this seminar quarterly throughout the year” he added.
